Its base materials are predominantly polyolefins such as low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and EVA, produced through extrusion, irradiation cross-linking, and expansion-and-setting processes. When heated to the shrink temperature, it tightly conforms to and encapsulates the substrate, providing insulation, abrasion resistance, and corrosion protection.
Medical grade products meet ISO 10993 biocompatibility requirements and are compatible with gamma-ray and ETO sterilization, and are widely used for insulation and jacketing of laparoscopic instruments, interventional devices, and medical cables.
